Melinda Prudence Halliwell is the third child and only daughter of a charmed one named Piper Halliwell and a former whitelighter named Leo Wyatt, the youngest sister of Wyatt and Chris Halliwell. She is named after one of her distant ancestor named Melinda Warren and her maternal deceased aunt named Prue Halliwell.

Born as a Whitelighter-Witch, Mel was killed by Shax however saved by Julian who she fell in love with him and unknowingly drank a potion that made her evil.
